This course teaches the basic duties a Range Safety Officer performs.  It provides a thorough introduction to:  the role of Range Safety Officers (RSOs); range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);  range safety briefings; range inspections and rules; emergency procedures; and how to clear firearm stoppages and correct malfunctions.  The skills acquired in this course require regular practice which should initially take place under the supervision of a qualified individual-such as an NRA Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO).

COURSE GOAL: To develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervision safe shooting activities and range operations.

LENGTH OF COURSE: 9 hours

COURSE PREREQUISITES:  None

COURSE CERTIFICATION:  Students completing the entire course and pass with a minimum of 90% will receive a NRA Range Safety Officer Certification.

COST:  $135.00 per person  Discounts are available for:  Veterans (honorably discharged), Women Armed and Ready members, groups of 10 or more

LOCATION:  This course is taught at the Women Armed and Ready, Inc. HQ 307 Broadway St., Aurora, IN 47001.  Instructors may be available to come to your location at an additional fee of travel and expenses.
